Student Volunteers
ICME 2011 Student Volunteer Program is designed to closely involve the students in the organizing, coordinating, and administrative activities during the main conference and related events. The program gives the students the opportunity of forming relationship with other students and working with Organizing Committee members and other professional people from industry or academia. These include helping with various tasks and facilitating different conference needs ranging from launching or fixing presentation and demo devices to managing technical program sessions.
Qualified student will benefit from full free registration to the conference program and workshops. Please note that this offer cannot be used toward the registration fee for presenting an accepted work (see Registration section for more details). Student volunteers will receive an appreciation certificate from ICME 2011 as well.
All undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply not later than Jun 15, 2011 through contacting Student Program co-chair Hossein Azari <hazari@ualberta.ca>. Please include your name, affiliation, education, your current program, and a short description of related experience in your application.
Student Panel Discussion
The purpose of the program is helping all the students and trainees attending the ICME 2011 with their networking experience during the conference. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with professional people from industry and academia and have an informal discussion with them on different topics including students' research topic, their expectations, possible work opportunities, and also share successful experiences and stories. The session will be open to all ICME 2011 registrant including student volunteers; there is no need to sign up.
More details and name/affiliation of the panelist will be available very soon.
Students Collaboration
We have provided a Facebook Page for students attending the ICME 2011 conference to connect with each other and plan their visit to Barcelona. This page is to share information about accommodation, good restaurants, activities during the conference and also any activity before/after the conference which you would not mind sharing with other fellow students.
